Running Tide

Running Tide , 60 ' IOR builds in 1970

A drawing of the cabinet of architects New Yorkean Sparkman & Stephens, built out of aluminum by the famous Dutch building site Huisma with which one owes the most beautiful units to date (restoration of Endeavor…).

The 60 ' IOR Running Tide, ordered by the tycoon New-Yorkais Jackob Ibrandtsen gained the Bermuda shorts Race in 1970 as well as the regattas of Southern Ocean Racing Circuit (SORC). In 1972, Ted Turner which had rented the boat with its owner, gains, over Running Tide Old Boat Race.

The same year, Al Van Measures, impressed by the power of the boat (12 nodes with near under génois), repurchases it and, with his/her Bau son, gains Storm Trysail Cleans week and the Miami Palm Beach Race in 1973, Nassau Cup in 1974 then new Bermuda shorts Race, all confused classes. In 1979 - 1980 they still take off the Bermuda shorts Race.

After 10 years of good and faithful services, the family Van Meter reconverted it in “Ocean race” to visit Europe.

In the Nineties, it is chartered in the Antilles to make charter and in the absence of maintenance, degrades itself little by little.

In 2002, after several years of wandering, the boat given up in the Mediterranean is repurchased by Eric pol. It sails today between the Languedoc and the Riviera.
