Rue de Clichy

The street of Clichy is a way with one way at the border of the 9 {{E}} and 8 {{E}} district of Paris. It connects the Place of Clichy to the Rue Saint-Lazare.

It is known to shelter the Casino of Paris, the Apollo and the Theater of Work and to skirt famous the church of the Trinity.

History

This street is on the site of a very old way which led street of the Good-Children to a junction (current subway station the Fork) where it was divided into two branches going respectively to the villages of Clichy and Saint-Ouen.

The Madness-Bertin

With the n° 27 was another main entrance of the Madness-Bertin. A club counter-revolutionary, known as of Clichy, occupied this house of 1796 to 1797. Majority of the " Clichiens" were off-set in banking Guyane.Le Hainguerlot then the Legation of Spain occupied this house later.

The Madness-Bouxière

This madness was built with the n°88 street of Clichy about 1760 for the farmer general of Bouxière. Built at the XIXe century, this building is very sober, without balconies, but has a beautiful green carriage door. It was renovated twice but the walls remain still gray. The n° 49bis was inhabited by the literary man Ernest Feydeau (1821-1873), father of Georges Feydeau.
