Ru of Gally

The Ru of Gally is small river a 22 km length, tributary of Right Bank of the Mauldre, which runs in the department of the Yvelines.

The course of the Ru of Gally

The Ru of Gally takes its source in the park of the castle of Versailles and sprinkles Thiverval-Oil cake, in particular crossing the field of the agronomic National institute Paris-Oil cake, before joining Mauldre downstream from Beynes with the locality “Maladrerie” to 42 m of altitude. Its course follows a south-eastern/north-western general orientation.

This brook drains the Plaine of Versailles, which is to some extent (2650 ha) a Site classified by decree of July 7th, 2000. Its catchment area covers 120 km ² on which 200.000 inhabitants live. Its medium flow is relatively low, with 700 l/s, but the flow of peak is of 5 m ³ /s and can even reach 15 m ³ /s at the time of strong storms.
