Royal Abbey of Poulangy

" Poulangy, that in vain one déprise,
was not for me without attractions,
and I found there though one says some,
rest, gaity and soft paix."
(anonymity?)

The small village of Poulangy (France, Haute-Marne) is built on what was a royal abbey of chanoinesses.
If the main masonries of this abbey were detruitent with the French revolution (the Abbatiale, the church of the abbey, the cloister). It remains nevertheless, a porch, a door of 18th, and many houses of nuns which date from 18th and the previous centuries. One can quote in particular a work of the architect Jean-Baptiste Bouchardon, father of the famous sculptor Edmé Bouchardon who carried out the Equestrian Statue of Louis XV of old the Place louis XV in Paris (Place of the harmony)
