Rolling pin

The rolling pin is a cylindrical object from approximately 30 to 40 centimetres length, often in Bois, which is used to extend the paste S (broken Pâte, Puff pastry,…). It can be provided or not with handles (or handle) at its ends.

After gossièrement having gossièrement flattened the lump with the hands, the roller is applied in several passages. According to the type of preparation, the paste can be folded up and the roller passed by again above.

To prevent that the paste does not stick to the roller and does not become deformed, the roller can be powdered with Farine. Certain models of rollers have an anti-adhesive coating in Polytétrafluoroéthylène.
