Roger Stern
Roger Stern (born the September 17th 1950) is a scenario writer of Comic S and American writer.
Biography
At the end of the years 1970, Bob Layton and published to him the Fanzine CPL (Contemporary Pictorial Literature), one of the first publications of the work of John Byrne. Stern was made known in industry in 1975 like member of the third vagueness of Marvel creators, which included/understood the draftsmen John Byrne and Frank Miller, and the scenario writers OJ Duffy, Mark Gruenwald and Ralph Macchio.Stern briefly worked as editor (mainly on Uncanny X-Men ), but it is more known for its short passage with John Byrne on Captain America and its long periods on Amazing Spider-Man (with the Super-Buffoon), Doctor Strange (of the stand-alone by Marshall Rogers, daN Green or Paul Smith, but also of the sagas on Dracula or the Black Knight), and The Avengers (Vision left to the conquest the world, by Al Milgrom and Bob Hall , or the attack of the Main of the Evil, by John Buscema/Tom Micrometer caliper).
He also worked for Marvel Comics on Spectacular Spider-Man (drawn by ED Hannigan), or The Incredible Hulk .
In 1982, it as well creates with the draftsman John Romita Jr the character of the Super-Buffoon as that of Monica Rambeau, new Captain Marvel. Then it creates in 1984 West Coast Avengers, a series derived from the Avengers . In 1987, after an argument with Gruenwald Mark on sagas to come, it is returned title Avengers .
It then starts to work in freelance for cd. Comics, mainly on Superman and the associated series like Action Comics, in particular at the time of the death of Superman, thus making party of people who took again the character when Marv Wolfman and John Byrne left the title. One can also at that time find it on Power off the Atom or Starman (drawn by Tom Lyle which puts in scene Starman V, Will Payton), two series which it launches in 1988, always at cd. Comics. In the same moment, he however collaborates with Steve Ditko on a series Marvel, Speedball .
In 1994, it will launch the third series devoted to Supergirl and, two years later, it will work on Legionnaires .
In 1996, Stern turns over to Marvel to write the mini-series Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives . During the following years, it will scénarisera the transitory series Marvel Universe , as well as mini-series like Avengers Two , Avengers Infinity (2000, in homage to fire Mark Gruenwald, drawn by Sean Chen), and Spider-Man: Revenge off the Green Goblin . Stern also collaborated with the scenario writer Kurt Busiek on Iron Man , the maximum-series Avengers Forever , and with Byrne on Marvel: The Lost Generation.
Stern also wrote some graphic novels, including Doctor Strange & Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment ; Superman for Earth ; The Incredible Hulk vs. Superman ; and Superman: With Nation Divided .
Since 2001, the majority of its scenarios of comics are intended for European editors like Egmont Books.
In addition to its scenarios of comics, Stern wrote some novels on the same subject: The Death and Life off Superman (Bantam Books, 1993, translated by Lefrancq), Smallville: The guru /Strange Visitors (Warner Books, 2002), and Superman: The Never-Ending Battle (Pocket Books, 2005). The Death and Life off Superman , Novelisation of the death of Superman was a best-seller of the NewYork Times.
