Roger Boyer

Roger Boyer , born on April 24th 1911 with Méailles in the Low-Alps and dead on August 28th, 1944 with Nice, is resistant French and member of FTPF.

He attends the elementary school of Vernier boys, then works, with his older brother, as painter in the building. He resides with his wife, in the Lorenzi allotment, with number 54 of the avenue Saint Barthelemy.

August 28th, 1944, during the release of the city, he dies at the beginning of the hostilities, under the shooting of a mortar shell to the level crossing. This crossroads, a Commemorative plaque evokes the price of its courage, and to a few tens of meters of its residence, to the bottom of the avenue St Barthelemy, a Square of more than thousand square meters, well arranged and green, its name carries.

Died for France, according to the letter of March 16th 1945, the General secretary to the War veterans.
