Roberto Castelli

Roberto Castelli (born with Lecco the July 12th 1946) is an Italian politician.

Graduate in mechanical Engineering with the Polytechnic of Milan, it specializes in England and in the United States. Its studies concentrate particularly in acoustics, sector in which it develops innovating technological systems to reduce the noise.

He is professor with Polytechnic of Milan with a course " Elements of control of the noise in the bâtiments" , he worked during 30 years in a company before just like chief technical officer, then as a liberal profession and a contractor. Currently it suspended its community activity to be devoted to its political and institutional stations.

In 1986 it adheres to the Ligue Lombarde, in 1990 it is the first with being elected to the provincial council of Like and to the town council of Lecco.

Representative of the League of North, it is elected appointed for the first time in 1992 with the system proportional, then it is confirmed in 1994 with the college uninonimal of Lecco and in 1996 as senator of the college with horse between the provinces of Lecco and Bergamo.

With the last elections of 2001 he is elected Senato della Repubblica in the same college, representing the coalition of the delle Casa Libertà.

From June 11th, 2001 to May 16th, 2006 he was Minister for Justice (Gouvernements Berlusconi II and III). ----
