Robert Smigel
Robert Smigel is an actor, scenario writer, producer and American realizer born the February 7th 1960 with New York, New York (the United States). It is especially known like the author and marionnettist of the character " Triumph The Insult Comic Dog" (a dog which has as a practice to insult celebrities) and sequence " TV Funhouse" of Saturday Night Live, containing cartoons parodying in particular the productions Hanna-Will bore the Sixties, the Disney feature films or the American political life.
Triumph is a rudimentary puppet, a sock decorated with a head of dog with a cigar in the mouth. Its interventions consist in insulting copiously and stupidly the guests of emissions, on which it would generally wish crotter, or to affirm an unslung sexuality.
Among the most popular works of " TV Funhouse" , let us quote " Gay The Ambiguously Duo" , adventures of Ace and Gary, two supermen with sexuality ambiguity (parody of the adventures of Batman and Robin), " The X-Presidents" , where the former presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George Bush, irradiated at the time of a tournament of golf, acquired super-capacities (parody of the X-Men and Archies) or the " Michael Jackson Show" , in which Michael Jackson each time tries vainly to prove that he is not paedophile.
The tele appearances of Triumph to the Conan O' Brien Show were the DVD object left to the United States in 2004, as well as album " solo" sketches and songs, " Like Poop With Me" (2003). Saturday Night Live diffused in April 2006 a best off " TV Funhouse" presented by Ace and Gary, left in DVD in October 2006.
Robert Smigel also regularly makes appearances in films of his friend Adam Sandler, former colleague of Saturday Night Live.
