Robert Opron
Robert Opron (born in 1931) is an automobile designor. He created or redrawn, inter alia, the body of the models Citroen DS, Citroen GS, Citroen SM, Citroen CX, Alpine A310, Renault Fuego and Renault 25.
Opron joined Citroen under Flaminio Bertoni, sculptor responsible for the remarkable model Citroen DS (called the " déesse" , then also the " vessel spatial") to become the person in charge of the maker style to the rafters until the recovery in 1974 by Peugeot. It then entered to the office of style of Renault. in 1981, it finished its brilliant career at FIAT at Alfa Romeo.
Exceptional models like the CX and SM were rewarded in their times.
Robert Opron realized that the only manner of carrying out good a Aérodynamique was to protect the headlights under a smooth surface. Moreover, it developed the system of directional headlights (also called " headlights tournant"), allowing the driver " to see in the coins". It joins together the two concepts with the design " second version" DS in 1967. While the aerodynamic headlights are a standard today, the principle of the revolving headlights only was began again recently on the segment of the top-of-the-range cars, 40 years after their invention.
Currently reprocesses some, he works as an independent consultant as regards design and automobile style (Ligier etc…).
