Robert Allan Monroe (1915 - 1995) was a parapsychologist, and the author of Journeys Out off the Body (the voyage out of the body), a book (1971) which popularized the expression " Experiment out of the body ".
Monroe was a preserving business man, originating in Virginia. He affirmed to have had his first experiences out of the body in 1958. After many experiments, it founded the Institut Monroe, a " non-profit organization dedicated to exploration of the conscience humaine". It is at the origin of a method called Hemi-Sync (diminutive of Hemispheric Synchronization ; the hemispherical synchronization) which facilitates the provocation of modified states of conscience favorable to the astral Projection. Hemi-Sync employs precise sound frequencies accompanied by instructions of Méditation which make it possible to stimulate the two hemispheres of the brain so that they function in a synchronous way.
Robert Monroe was the author of these three books:
- Journeys Out off the Body (the voyage out of the body)
- Far Journeys (Fantastic experiments of astral voyage)
- Ultimate Journey (not-translates)
