As a good travelling acrobat, Robert Lamoureux will touch thereafter with all the facets of the spectacle: variety, disc, radio, theater,… He is the author of light comedies and received a Grand Prix of the disc before the cinema is interested in him. He is large success in the years 1950, with comedies worthy of the Light comedies where he imposes a thin character, tempting and funny. From this time, one can retain comedies raised such as Papa, mom, the good one and me (1954) of Jean-Paul Chanois, inspired of one of his numbers of cabaret, and Papa, mom, my wife and me (1955), of the same realizer. In 1955, he plays with Betsy Blair, in Rencontre in Paris . He incarnates twice a Arsène Lupin full with gouaille ( the Adventures of Arsene Lupin , 1956, of Jacques Becker; Signed Arsene Lupin , 1959, of Yves Robert). In 1960, it passes behind the camera to carry out adapted films of light comedies of which he is the author ( Charming and the brown one that here are ), which is successes in rooms but rejects criticism. After a long eclipse with the cinema, Robert Lamoureux of reinvents the military light comedy with in particular the series of the Seventh Company, of which the exploits fill the rooms: But where thus passed the seventh company? (1973), One found the seventh company (1975), the seventh company with the moonlight (1977). One finds it in one of his best roles in the apprentice bastard (1976) of Michel Deville.
But Robert Lamoureux acknowledges that the cinema annoys it: he prefers the theater to which he devotes the essence of his career.
