Rieti is a Italian city of the province of the same name in the Latium.
Geography
History
Named Latin Reate in , it was the capital of the Sabine (territory of the Sabins), and suffered much in the wars from the Romains against the Italiques. It became under the empire Préfecture, then, under Vespasien, Municipe.It was damaged by an earthquake in 1785.
The French beat the Neapolitan ones in 1798 there.
Old Chief town of delegation of the Papal States, it was joined together since 1860 with the Royaume of Italy.
