Richard Dean Anderson

Richard Dean Anderson (January 23rd 1950 with Mineapolis, Minnesota -) is a American Acteur , interprets principal televised series MacGyver (1985-1994) and Stargate SG-1 (1997-2007).

Its childhood with Mineapolis

It was born on January 23rd, 1950 in the American city from Mineapolis. His/her father, Stuart Anderson, taught the English, but also the theater, as well as the social sciences in a college. This last was a bass player of accomplished Jazz. The mother of Richard Dean Anderson, Jocelyn, was gifted both for painting the sculpture. Richard is the elder one of four children. The three others grew in the suburbs of Mineapolis: Jeffrey Scott, Thomas John, and James Stuart.

Its studies, its passions

As of his more young age, Richard Dean Anderson had a very marked taste for the sport, like art and the music. He dreamed to become player of Hockey. But towards the 16 years age, an accident in which it broke the two arms made him give up its ambition to become professional player. At the 17 years age, it left to bicycle its house to the Minnesota towards the Canada and the Alaska for a tour 5641 miles (either more than 9000 km) which made him discover the adventure. He then studied the dramatic art at the university of the State de Nuage of street and to the university of Ohio but he left without diploma. Then it left to New York, but it settled finally with Los Angeles. He then became juggler and MIME in a cabaret. He also worked at Marineland, where he wrote, directed, and carried out exposures of marine mammals. He also played of the guitar in the group Ricky Dean and Dante.

Its career of actor

He really pointed out himself in the series General Hospital in 1976 in the role of Dr. Jeff Webber. Five years afterwards, it stopped playing in this series and it turned to roles in short series on CBS. But it is in 1985 that its career took off, with the role of Angus MacGyver, an intelligent man, débrouillard, handyman of genius and amateur of hockey. MacGyver lasted 7 years. The reputation acquired thanks to this famous series then enabled him to play in other series, like in films.

In 1997, it signed with CBS for a pilot telefilm of a series of the name of Stargate SG-1 (it is one of the producers of the series) based on the film Stargate of 1994. Its role is consequently that of the Colonel, then Brigadier general Jack O' Neill (role held previously by Kurt Russell in the film Stargate ) which orders a new team under the name of code: SG-1. This series was turned in the studios of Vancouver and finished at the time of its tenth season of sharpened, in 2006.

To deal with his daughter, it less and less made appearances in seasons 8 and 9, leaving a vacuum in the series, and returned for 5 episodes in 2006 (2 in SG-1 season 10 and 3 in Atlantis season 3), with the permission of his daughter.

Richard Dean Anderson likes much to travel and he likes the art of the French impressionists. He is music lover traditional and of jazz, but so sporting: he practices hockey, the Ski and the Base-ball. He likes the motor bikes and he has several of them. He is also a large fan of the Simpsons, and even lent his voice in the seventeenth episode of the dix-septimème season of the series KIS KIS, Bang Bangalore , in his own role (In an episode of SG-1, season 08 n°19 Moebius 1/2, the boat of Jack O' Neill is named the Homer ). He is often present in associations of charity (like the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society). He is also one of the leaders of Gekko Film Corporation, which produced the series Stargate SG-1.
