Richard Johann Constantin Böhm is a zoologist and an exploring German, born on October 1st 1854 with Berlin and dead the March 27th 1884 with Katapana, Katanga.

He is the son of Ludwig and Franziska Louise born Meyerlinck. He studies the Zoologie near Ernst Haeckel (1834-1919) with the Université of Iéna where he obtains his doctorate in 1877. He leaves to explore the area of Zanzibar and reached bank is Lac Tanganyika, then the south-west of the Lake Upämba which he discovers (1880 - 1884).

Its correspondence appears under the title of Von Sansibar zum Tanganjika (1888). Böhm signs many articles for the Journal für Ornithologie of 1882 with 1887. It drives continuations of an attack of Paludisme. Anton Reichenow (1847-1941) and Hermann Schalow (1852-1925) dedicates to him several S of Oiseau X:
