Renewal of water

In Aquariophilie, the renewal of water of a Aquarium ( change of water in ordinary language) makes it possible to limit the rate of pollutants such as the Nitrite S, the Nitrate S, etc, which if they are concentrated too much harm the health of the Poisson S.

Precautions

The brutal change of medium being harmful to fauna as with the flora of the aquarium, the change of water must be carried out in a progressive way so that the parameters such as the temperature, the pH or TH evolve/move slowly and remain within the acceptable limits by the occupants of the aquarium.

Methods

The method simplest and usable for the vats of small or average size is the replacement by water " fraîche" third (to the maximum) of the capacity of the tank. One starts by trapping water to be replaced (by privileging the low zones, charged in pollutants and various remains) then one supplements by water put at temperature as a preliminary and gradually added. One must ensure oneself not to pour water too quickly not to upset the contents of the aquarium.

This method forces to have a water arrival on the aquarium and too full making it possible to keep the constant level, as for the preceding method, evacuated water is taken more close possible bottom.
