Rene Ribière
Rene Ribière was Député Gaulliste of Seine-et-Oise (old French department, under the license number 78, and which corresponds to the departments of the Yvelines, Val-d'Oise and the Essonne). It remains in the history to be the last loser of an official duel.
In 1967, at the time of a debate to the National Assembly, Gaston Defferre treats it " of abruti". Rene Ribière asks for repair by iron (in fact the sword). The duel takes place in a private residence of Neuilly-sur-Seine, and is arbitrated by the Député gaullist of left Jean de Lipkowski. It is designed to stop with the first blood. Experiment lack, in front of marrying the following day, Rene Ribière is wounded first once, but request the resumption of the combat. It loses finally its duel after one second wound.
