Rene Préval
Rene Préval (born Rene Garcia Préval the January 17th 1943 with Marmalade in Haiti), is a Politician Haiti in. Prime Minister of Haiti under the presidency of Jean-Bertrand Aristide of the February 13rd to the October 11th 1991 then President of the February 7th 1996 with the February 7th 2001 and since the May 14th 2006.
The February 7th 2006, he is candidate with the presidential election and gains it as of the first turn with 51,15%.
This old ally of the old-president in exile Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was proclaimed victorious of the presidential election the February 16th after an agreement between the temporary government and the electoral commission.
The December 11th, just a few months after having found its station, it is of return of Cuba where it spent four days to undergo medical examinations there. The latter revealed symptoms of a Cancer. These tests do not make it possible to diagnose a cancer firmly, and it must for that turn over to Havana, the December 26th there to pass from other examinations and to undergo a treatment.
Rene Préval, 63 years old, was victim of a Cancer of the prostate in 2001, last year of its first presidential mandate, and had been made operate with Cuba.
