Rene Derouin
Rene Derouin is a multidisciplinary Québécois artist recognized for his Céramiques and its engravings. He was born the April 28th 1936 with Montreal. In 1975, it is established with Valley-David, in the area of Laurentides, in the north of Montreal to Quebec. Its pictorial research is largely related on the territory and the concept of americanity.

The Derouin Foundation
The Derouin Foundation is located at Valley-David, in Laurentides in the north of Montreal, and work place of residence of the artist Rene Derouin.Founded in 1995, at the time of the behavior of a first international symposium, the Derouin Foundation is an non-profit making organization whose mission is of:

to carry out meetings in art on a set of themes basis, privileging an art of social integration and the relationship with the public;
- to accommodate artists in visual arts coming from three Americas, supporting the North-South dialog and artistic exchanges.
The Foundation organizes annually, insofar as its funds allow it, a major cultural symposium where performances with artists, concerts, in situ works, exposures and conferences intermingle on art, the history and nature. She proposes an interdisciplinary approach where visual arts, in interrelationship with other disciplines whose music and poetry, constitute the principal element of its programming.
The Derouin Foundation contributes, by its activities and its radiation, with the tourist cultural development and of Valley-David and of the area of Laurentides.

The Derouin Foundation intends, later on, to ensure the perenniality of its activities by setting up the House of Americas. This project requiring an important setting of funds aims at transforming the residence, the workshops and the site of the property of Rene Derouin in a permanent center for the creators in visual arts: workshops, residences of short duration, international center of conferences and animation and paths of in situ art emphasizing the Gardens of Precambrian, place of reception of the symposiums.
