Renault Trucks

Renault Trucks is a manufacturer of trucks French. He belongs to group AB Volvo Trucks, since his sale by Renault the January 2nd 2001. He was called hitherto Renault Véhicules Industrial .

History

1955 : Latil, Renault and Somua amalgamates to create SAVIEM-LRS, later on " Saviem ", subsidiary of the Renault control.
1978: Berliet and the Saviem amalgamates to create the single French manufacturer of weight-heavy (with share Unic, subsidiary of FIAT), Renault Véhicules Industrial, the branch “Vehicles Industrial” of the group Renault.
1992: Renault Véhicules Industrial becomes Renault V.I
1999: in partnership with FIAT - Iveco, creation of Irisbus, regrouping of Renault Drunk and the European branch Drunk of Iveco.
2001: Renault V.I is taken again by the group Volvo. Renault V.I yields to FIAT its participation in Irisbus.
2002: Renault V.I takes the international trade description “Renault Trucks”.

Renault Trucks in the Volvo group

Renault Trucks constitutes the second company in the face of the Volvo Group, whose dynamics of the heavy trucks activity rests on the specific development of three marks of reference on the worldwide market: Renault, Volvo and Mack (for the American northern market).

Non-observance of the workers
