Remarkable Garden

The label remarkable Jardin was created in 2004 by the Ministère of the Culture with the assistance of the National council of the parks and gardens.

It aims to recognize and develop Parc S and Jardin S open to the public and maintained well. This label exceeds the framework of the old gardens, protected or not under the historic buildings, to include the field of the gardens of recent creation.

This label of State, allotted for 5 years, is renewable and revisable. The criteria taken into account for attribution are the composition, integration in the site and the quality of the accesses, the presence of remarkable elements, the interest Botanique, the historical interest (for the old gardens only), the quality of maintenance. The label gets the following advantages:

mention in the documents diffused by the ministry for the culture and the communication,
possibility of obtaining road signs,
possibility of taking into account in the local plans of town planning,
possibility of obtaining a tax approval,
support of the National council of the parks and gardens, Committee of the parks and gardens of France and regional association.

The label urges the owners n the other hand to ensure a regular maintenance of their garden, to open to the public at least 40 days in the year, to take part in a national operation the Rendez-vous to the gardens or the European Journées of the inheritance, to place information at the disposal it public, to affix the plate taking again the logotype of the label.

Today 200 gardens profit from this label in France.
