Reavers
The Reavers are a group of mercenaries, created by Marvel Comics in 1988, appeared for the first time in X-Men #229 .
Origin
In the beginning, Reavers were a group of Australian mercenaries carried out by a trio of Cyborg S (Pretty Boy, Skullbuster and Bonebreaker). They had reduced the Gateway mutant in slavery and made use of its capacities of teleportation.
They faced the X-Men and lost. X-Men seized their HQ, hidden under a phantom city in the desert.
Reavers were then taken in hand by the cyborg Donald Pierce, old Insane White of the Club of Damnés. This last wanted the death of X-Men. It usurped the capacity of Sebastian Shaw and captured the Professor Xavier, of which it intended to use the vast mental capacities. But the Nouveaux Mutants discovered its plan and ruined it. Pierce was driven out Club.
Wanting to be avenged, he enlisted novel members, of which some affiliated with the Club (Wade Cole, Angelo Macon and Murray Reese). It them cybernetisa, as he had done with the guards estropiés by Wolverine before. It made in the same way with Lady Deathstrike.
Reavers faced several times Wolverine and X-Men, and they recovered their abandoned base. Wolverine was captured and crucifié, then released by Jubilé.
Thinking of knowing where the mutant griffu had taken refuge, Reavers attacked the island of Muir. A combat opposed Reavers, Freedom Force and allied of X-Men. The Wall and Sunder (Morlock) were killed, but Forge eliminated Skullbuster.
Pierce succeeds in rebuilding Skullbuster, and the mercenaries fought against the Punisher.
Pierce transformed Cylla Markham, a pilot employed by the X-Men in cyborg. The latter and Lady Deathstrike were apparently alone Reavers to survive the attack of Sentinelles programmed by Trevor Fitzroy.
In fact, Donald Pierce survived too. He found thereafter a hiding-place of Cable and its reserve of Adamantium flew to him.
During a battle against Wolverine, a being called Khyber appeared to take again the technology of Pierce. Pierce had the torn off arms, and Khyber disappeared.
Recently, one re-examined it with the head of a band of mercenaries. It had just faced Tornade, Bishop, and Solar, in the property of a Sebastian Shaw seriously wounded in the attack.
