Raymond Maher

Raymond Maher was a lawyer Québécois.
At the summer 1954, it is particularly illustrated, in quite sad way, as a defender of the prospector gaspésien Wilbert Coffin in famous the Affaire Whetstone sheath. Several consider today that it then showed a coarse incompetence which contributed to the execution of innocent.
In 1954, shortly after the lawsuit Whetstone sheath, it is named legal adviser with the Control of the rents by the Prime Minister for Quebec Maurice Duplessis.
Its political ambitions took it along to arise to the cheffery National union of Quebec after the death of Maurice Duplessis, but it was demolishes by Daniel Johnson on September 23rd 1961. In this race with four, it obtained only two votes out of 1944 deputy.
