Ramoché

The Temple of Ramoché was built by the king Songtsen Gampo at the 7th century. The Temple of Ramoché was, with the Jokhang, one of the first temples builds with Lhassa at the 7th century; he is venerated with the Tibet because he shelters a statue of the Jowo, representing the young person Bouddha. The Temple of Ramoché sheltered initially the Jowo Sakyamuni brought by the Chinese princess Wencheng, who is currently with the Jokhang. It shelters now the Jowo Mikyö Dorjé (name Tibetan of the Buddha Akshobya). The Jowo Mikyö Dorjé was brought by the Nepalese princess Bhrikuti, and was initially sheltered with the Jokhang.
