Ralph Boston

Ralph Boston , born the May 9th 1939 with Laurel, is a former American athlete , specialist in the Long jump.

It took part in three editions of the Olympic Games of summer consecutive. In 1960 with Rome, he became Olympic champion with a jump with 8.12 Mr. Four years later, he was beaten by the Britannique Lynn Davies and was satisfied with the money for four centimetres.

With the Olympic Games of summer of 1968 of Mexico City, it was in the role of the favorite with its world records to 8.35 m carried out three years earlier with Modesto. But after the " jump of the siècle" to 8.90 of Bob Beamon, all was clear. With 8.16 m, Boston took the third place behind Beamon and the Est-Allemand Klaus Beer.
