Raghib Al-Nashashibi

Raghib Al-Nashashibi (1881 - 1951) was a Palestinian politician . It was a rich person landowner under the Ottoman Empire, the British mandate and the Jordanian administration. Nashashibi was graduate university of Istanbul and engineer of a district of Jerusalem.

Nashashibi replaced Moussa Qassem Al-Husseini at the post of mayor of the town of Jerusalem, it was also one of the principal opponents to the Husseini family. In 1937, it secretly supported the union of Palestine with the Transjordanie. Nashashibi was one of the founding members of the Arab High committee and the Parti national defense.

In August 1949, it was named with the head of the new Jordanian ministry of the refugees, it was then named general governor of Arab Palestine in September of the same year. It becomes in 1950 Jordanian Minister for agriculture then Minister for transport.
