Proton (bank card)
Proton is an electronic application of Porte-monnaie launched in 1996 in Belgium. It is integrated into the charts of flow: there thus does not exist purchasing card only Proton .
The purpose of it is to replace traditional porte-monnaie and is designed to pay small amounts, typically lower than 15 €. The system Moneo French has similarities with this system.
Initially, it is necessary to charge its chart starting from an bank account with any banking distributer, or even in phone boxes. The chart is then output in tradesmen who have a terminal envisaged for this purpose; it can also be used as telephone chart. Short use of the card times of exchange of payment, as well as time in end-of-day to make its case.
It does not require a password or of secret number, and in the event of loss, one loses the money placed electronically on the chart, from where a limitation of the possible maximum amount with 125 € by safety.
If the Proton system does not cost large-thing to the customer, the tradesman rents however the adapted terminal, and perceives indeed the sum of the transaction only some time after this one.
