Professional Chess Association
The Professional Chess Association is a former international organization of professional players of failures founded by the international large-Masters Garry Kasparov and Nigel Short in 1993. She is in competition with the International federation of the failures.
The PCA has its own championship of the world known as “traditional”. The title is decreed at the time of the PCA-Brain Games .
Kasparov becomes first world champion PCA by beating Short. In 1995, Kasparov beats Viswanathan Anand 10,5 to 7,5 before being beaten by its former student Vladimir Kramnik in 2000. Kramnik keeps its title in 2004 in Brissago against the Hungarian Peter Lékó.
The principal patron of the PCA was Intel until 1996, after which Kasparov pains to find financings.
In September and October 2006 place with Elista, the capital of the Kalmoukie had a championship of the world aiming at reunifying the two federations. Kramnik, the “traditional” champion, heir to the PCA faced there the Bulgare Veselin Topalov, world champion FIDE. Kramnik gains the meeting in spite of certain operations of Topalov and the FIDE.
