Primary forest

A primary forest , known as also virgin forest in the language running, is a intact Forêt (or original), and with high degree of Naturalité which neither was thus never exploited, neither fragmented nor directly or obviously influenced by the man.

The primary zones of forests became very rare in the world.

In the world

The three large poles of primary tropical forests are located: who with them three gather at least the two-thirds of the primary forests of planet.

Near to Brazil, the French Guiana, French department of Overseas, with more 90  % of forests primary, represent one of the vastest zones of them. In addition, the Patagonie (Chile and Argentinian), the Tasmanie (Australia), the State of Washington (the United States) and the Colombia-British (Canada) have the main part of the moderate primary forests.

In Europe

On the continent, only some forests such as that of Białowieża remain, in Poland, Perucica in Bosnia-Herzégovine or in the extreme North of the Scandinavia and in certain parts of Siberia.
