Primal repression
The original repression founds the Inconscient in the Première topics freudienne. The unconscious one is constituted indeed at the time when the mnemic-traces are forgotten or driven back.
Driven back
If the Refoulement indicates usually a secondary repression, the operation by which a Représentation joined the unconscious system, therefore the already driven back elements, original repression indicates the first operation by which the unconscious one is founded. This psychic operation introduces the Névrose, the subject being unaware of certain particularly influential representations however, representations structuring its fantasmatic life .
Representative-representation
In only one act, the unconscious one is constituted and the Pulsion is fixed at a psychical representative, the representative representation, which represents the impulse, as somatic, in the psychic field. The representative representation will be thus brought to remain, the impulse remaining fixed at him. This connection of the impulse to a psychical representative evokes the idea of regression, of of libido fixing at a psychosexual stage, as well as the fixing of the impulse in the unconscious one.
After the second topics
Original repression falls a little in disuse as from the second topics, where it is considered that a considerable part of the Me is unconscious, of which the mechanisms of defense: original repression would be thus unconscious before the formation of the inconscient. The question of the unconscious remainder thus open for Freud.
