Presidential election of the United States of America 1824
Into 1824, the left democrat-republican was divided on four different candidates: it is the end of the era of the finer feelingss . None the candidates not arriving in the majority absolute, Clay gave its support for John Q. Adams (wire of the precedent) which was finally elected. The partisans of Jackson made scission then and constituted themselves in Démocrates Jacksoniens , those of Adams took the name of Républicains nationals. It was the beginning of the American bipolarism.
