Two bridges

Although the date of its construction is difficult to determine, there exists with Port-Lesney a bridge out of stone with three arches as of XVe century, which makes it possible the village to become a point of passage privileged towards Besancon. Nevertheless because of its old design (broad pillars and vaults relatively low), the bridge causes important floods in period of rising. In order to cure this harmful effect, a fourth arch is built at the end of XVe century, then a fifth end XIXe. Lastly, eleven years after the construction of a more modern bridge, this first bridge is finally destroyed in 1951. Only an arch is then preserved, still places from there at present.

After a particularly important rising in 1931, an investigation is launched for the realization of a new bridge, which would offer less resistance to the flow of the river. The construction of the new bridge begins in 1938, and is completed in 1940. The village thus has the effect of having had two bridges during more than ten years, of 1940 to 1951!

Notre Dame de Lorette

The vault of Lorette is accessible starting from the road which joined Port-Lesney with Cramans, and profits from a very beautiful sight on the valley of Loue downwards.

This hermitage was built in several stages: the chorus, with the very thick walls, constitutes the oldest part (construction estimated in XIVe century); contiguous small bedrooms would date from the beginning of XVIIe, a nave of the beginning of XVIIIe; finally a big room welded with the chorus by her northern wall is of modern construction. Outside, one can admire a splendid stone roof.
