Popular liberation movement of Angola
The Popular liberation movement of the Angola or Movimento Popular de Libertação of Angola is founded in 1956 to fight in favor of the national release of Angola. Fights which leads to the proclamation of the independence of the country on November 11th, 1975 and the accession with the report heading of the president of the movement Agostinho Neto which succeeds, in 1979 José Eduardo dos Santos. But as of independence, while the MPLA supported by the and Eastern bloc Cuba reach the capacity, a civil war which opposes it to UNITA constant by the the United States, the South Africa of the Apartheid and the Zaire of Mobutu Sese Seko, bursts, to take to end only in 2002 with disappearance with the combat of Jonas Savimbi the historic leader of the UNITA.
