Pond of Balmette

The pond of Balmette or Estany of Balmeta is a Lac French of the the Pyrenees located in the department of the the Eastern Pyrenees, in the East of the Angles.

  • One reaches initially by the forest road of the Angles the pond of Vallserra where one will find a surface of reception pleasant surrounded by greenery crossed by a River.

  • the access to the lake of the balmetta is done then with foot it is necessary to count approximately an hour and half to reach the lake. At the beginning two possible ways:
  • For the first Way, the departure is done by a small sloping way in bottom of the Lake Valserra which leaves contrary to this last it joined then a forest path which goes up quietly to the pond.
  • the second way is more difficult, the departure is done while skirting the Ruisseau which is present at the rest area. The way crosses then a marsh (Passage on wood logs) then arrives on a rock wall. After that the way joined the path forrestier and the two routes meet.
  • the last 500 meters before the top are rather sloping.
