Police chief of the LNH

The police chief of the National league of hockey is official the most important of the league. Of 1917 then with 1993, the station was called the President . The title changed in order to standardize name with the other leagues of sport of North America.

The Police chief of the current LNH is Gary Bettman.

Responsibilities

The Police chief is several responsible in league. In particular, for each match, it indicates the whole of the official :

History

The first president of the league is Frank Calder and it will remain in station until in 1943. Calder knew to make it possible the LNH to survive the various tests of time including inter alia the first and Second world war as well as the Grande Depression of 1929. The January 25th 1943 whereas it chairs a meeting with the governors of the LNH, it knows a first heart attack, then one second at the hospital. A new heart attack carries it the February 4th. He is at the base of the negotiations with the AMH to include four of the franknesses in the LNH in 1979: the Oilers d' Edmonton, the Jets of Winnipeg, Scandinavian of Quebec and the Whalers de Hartford.
