Point Spaniards
The point of the Spaniards constitutes the north-eastern end of the Presqu'île of Quélern, outgrowth of the Presqu'île of Crozon closing the Rade of Brest. It also marks the south-eastern end of the Goulet of Brest (other ends being marked by the Pointe of the Capuchins, the point of the Small Pussy and the Pointe of Portzic).
Composed of a cliff of more than 60 meters height, at the top and in bottom of which the military vestiges of fortifications and buildings of lodging of troops remain, the point is prolonged towards the North-East by the rock of Cormorandière, marked of a pole. The narrow channel located between the point and the rock is the seat of the strongest currents agitating the roads.
Fort of the point of the Spaniards the sight on Brest and its military port is impregnable.
