Plume (sport)
Roger Lafond created in 1945 a method of personal defense, the plume , which associates Escrime, Karaté, boxes French and canes, but also techniques of coil defense as the slap, the blows of elbows and knees. To be effective and fast the movements are not developed and leave mainly before arm with rotation the wrist. Its method will be later opposite with that of Maurice Sarry more centered on the competition.
Techniques of the cane-slipper
Today, one considers the plume as a sport of combat derived from the Canne of combat, using the kicks of the Savate, and some techniques of stick. This technique is based on a work of distance. The distance from usual key is that used in cane; however, one can break this distance and approach temporarily to make a technique of foot or a technique of stick (with the cane held with two hands).
Some rules for the parades: one protects oneself from the cane with the cane; one protects oneself from the kicks with the feet or before arm (so in high line); one can however drive out the foot with the cane held with two hands (the blow is not blocked but it is accompanied).
