A plowman appoints under the Ancien Mode a peasant which has the ground that it cultivates and at least un horse .
Hierarchisation of the country world
The laboureurs are generally peasants who grew rich and thus succeeded in escaping partially the system of the Féodalité.They are thus notable campaigns, very present in the village assemblies and, sometimes, direct interlocutors of the lord of the place. Some are very rich, others less, but they represent nevertheless the " crème" farming community with the farmers aisés.
The less favoured category of peasants is that of the " domestic " , having only (very) small small holdings and of course not of… horse, only of a âne.
Poorest, among the active population rural, which is those rent, from day to day, their services, their forces and have only their arms, their hands. One thus indicates them like " daily " , of the " blazing infernos " , of the " manouvriers ",…
This distinction is however to moderate according to the times and the areas.
