Play-the-Turns

Play-the-Turns is a common French, located in the department of Indre-et-Loire and the area Center.

Its inhabitants is called the Jocondiens, Jocondiennes .

Geography

History

In 1964, Tours absorbed part of the territory of the commune of Play-the-Turns (current districts of the Two-Lions and Bergeonnerie).

Often regarded as a residential Suburbs of Turns, Play-the-Turns becomes with the wire of time an independent agglomeration, enriched by a population in the multiple beginnings. It is the second commune of the department in term of population, and the seventh of the Région Centers (either the city most populated in-outside Préfecture S).

Played the turns is twinned with five towns of Europe:

Hechingen in Germany since 1973

East Ayrshire in Scotland since 1989

Santa Maria da Feira in Portugal since 1989

Citta di Castello in Italy since 1991

Ogre in Latvia since 2005
