The plantain of the Indies ( Plantago ovata ), or ispaghul , is one of Plantain originating in the India.
Description

One can thus use it over longer periods, the more so as by papering the intestine, it protects it. Moreover, by their aptitude to collect water, its mucilages form in the stomach a gel cut-hunger. This effect is potentiated by a reduced absorption of food at the intestinal level, these two combined actions are interesting within the framework of a slimming mode.
It is mentioned like plants medicinal in the medical texts Ayurvediques and Unani S to help to solve many problem like the constipation, amoebic dysentery and diarrhea.
