Plain Democratic movement
The plain Democratic movement (" United Democratic Movement" - UDM) is a political party of South Africa, founded in 1997 by Roelf Meyer, former minister for the national Parti and by Bantu Holomisa, former leader of the Bantoustan of the Transkei and former member of ANC.
Located at the center right, the program of the party is centered on the individual rights, social and economic, on the values morals, the respect of diversities and against any inclination of separatism.
The party emerged with the national elections of 1999 (14 elected deputies) but in 2004, it was in retreat and lost five deputies after the UDM known many internal tensions.
Roelf Meyer having left the political life, Bantu Holomisa is the only true personality of the party.
Its electoral base is primarily located at the Cape-Eastern , consisted mainly of old Transkei.
