Pierre-Gustave Roze

Pierre-Gustave Roze (born in Mimes November 28th, 1812, deceased with Paris in 1882), was a Admiral and ordering of the squadron of the French Far East. It is known for its participation in forwarding in Korea in 1866 (see Jean-Marie Thiébaud, " The French Presence in Corée" , Paris, Harmattan, 2005, p. 240-241).

After its Korean forwarding, Roze and its fleet went to the Japan where they accommodated the first French military mission within the Empire of the Rising sun (1867 - 1868) in the port of Yokohama the January 13rd 1867.

Of return in France, he became the maritime police chief of the Manche and the the North Sea, between 1869 and 1871.
