Under the Revolution
Temporary elected official appointed with the general states by the Third state of the Seneschalsy of La Rochelle, it did not have to sit there, became in 1790 member of the directory of the department of the Charente-Lower . He was named the following year appointed with the legislative Assemblée and was made admit with the Club of the Jacobins of which he became the secretary the May 17th 1792 and Member of the Commission of correspondence. A decree of the legislative Parliament of the August 26th sent it to Rochefort with Joseph Niou to seek artillery there. The next month He was re-elected with the Convention on the benches of the Montagne. He showed on any occasion a burning republican without disavowing his independence, he entered the October 17th 1792 to the Comité of general security, and left it only in April 1793 at the time of its departure on mission. With the Procès of Louis XVI it voted, against the call to the people, for death, and against the deferment. April 12th 1793 it was one of the deputies sent to the Armée with the Rhine it remained there a long time with the district-general in front of Landau, then with Wissembourg, there it named on August 25th the general Charles Hyacinthe Leclerc de Landremont commander-in-chief in place of Alexandre François Marie de Beauharnais which it relieved on September 29th. August 22nd he wrote Wissembourg “ He is absolutely necessary to drive out center of the republic the egoistic rich person who subsistence, nor to fight with us against the despots, should be confiscated all want neither to founir us their goods with the profit of the republic ”, and still on August 30th “ We purge the army of royalists… We occupy ourselves to make burn the wood of Bienwald or much hide and assassinate our defenders ”. He was recalled by decree of the 13 brumaire year II {November 3rd 1793}. He was opposed to the Loi of Meadow: “ If this decree passes, I burn myself the brain ”.
The 16 nivôse year II {January 8th 1795}, it took the defense of the officers relieved and replaced by the “gueux ones”. The 22 Nivôse, it treated the ex- maratist André Dumont of royalist, of rascal. In full Convention, he denounced François-Louis Bourdon known as " Bumblebee of Oise" who had said to him to want to send Lazare Carnot to the guillotine. François Louis Bourdon defended himself slightly. In the meeting of the germinal evening of the 11 {March 31st}, it was issued of arrest, hid in Paris but having learned that Convention had returned a decree striking of deportation those which would seek to be withdrawn from the decree of arrest, it presented the 29 germinal one and was sent in the citadel of Besancon at the same time as Rene Levasseur known as {of the Sarthe} and Louis Bon of Montaut says Maribon de Montaut. Locked up in a wet and sordid cell, an eye would have lost there if it is necessary to believe Marc Antoine Baudot of it. Into meadow, he was issued of charge. Jean-Baptiste Michel Saladin, appointed Somme being in this moment on mission with Besancon went to see Rene Levasseur and Pierre Charles Ruamps in their dungeon, this last gave to him a letter intended for the delegation of Charente-Lower and than Jean-Baptiste Michel Saladin forwarded to destination, it made there the account of its political career and its missions. In truth it had been difficult to put it in charge for simple matter. Transferred to Gray the 4 vendémiaire Year IV, it was returned to freedom following the amnesty of the 4 brumaire An IV {October 26th 1795}.
Under the Consulate and the First Empire
It returned in its country, dealt with its field and was named member of the General advice of Charente-Lower the June 8th 1800 station than it kept until his death.
