Philippsburg
Philippsburg is a small town of Germany, located in the district of Karlsruhe in the Bade-Wurtemberg.
Before 1632 the city was called " Udenheim".
The city was a possession of the bishop of Spire of 1371 - 1718. It is one of them, Philipp Christoph von Sötern (bishop of 1610 - 1652), which gave its name to the city.
Germany and France disputed the possession of the city (Guerre of the league of Augsburg). During the War of succession of Poland, the Armed S with Bavaria, Savoy and France face those of Russia, Austria and the Saint Empire in order to determine the choice of the sovereign future of Poland. The forces free - Spanish engages against Charles VI in the area of the the Rhine and the July 18th 1734, they seize the Forteresse after a seat.
The city is the site of the Nuclear plant of Philippsburg.
