Philip Kotler

Philip Kotler (May 27th 1931 with Chicago) is a professor of international marketing to the Kellogg School off Management of the Université Northwestern.

Kotler largely contributed to found the Marketing like disciplines academic. It marked the formation of hundreds of thousands of students in the whole world and is the author of about fifty works of which the very known " Marketing Management " (KOTLER, whose French version was elaborate in collaboration with fire professor Bernard Dubois (1946-2001)).

The Standpoint of Kotler

Philip Kotler is regarded as the leader of the school of the Marketing Management, whose philosophy rests on the application of the process triptych Segmentation/Ciblage/Positionnement. One also owes him the formalization of the mix marketing (essential components in the confrontation of a marketing offer at a market) in five " P" : Product , Price , Place , " personnel" & Promotion i.e. Produced, Price, Distribution, personnel & Communication. One can add a fifth variable to it approaching the distribution: the sales force.

Its many articles are as many standpoint for such or such technique, and one can affirm that it is one of the rare academics of the discipline by report/ratio to which any university author must position.
