Peter Green, of his true name Peter Greenbaum, is a Guitariste and British Compositeur of Blues and Rock, born the October 29th 1946 with London.

Biography

It carries out its beginnings of musician in 1966 within the Peter B' S Looners of the Organiste Peter Bardens (ex-guide of Van Morrison at Them and future Camel) with which it records simple. In this formation, it cotoie in particular the beater Mick Fleetwood.

In September 1967, Peter Green leaves John Mayall and share to found the Fleetwood Mac in company of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, also a musician of Bluesbreakers. From 1967 to 1970, under the impulse of Peter Green, Fleetwood Mac will be one of the major groups of the scene rock'n'roll. While Fleetwood Mac is with its apogee beginning 1970, the mental health of its leader Peter Green becomes alarming. In May 1970, Peter Green leaves Fleetwood Mac brutally to record an album instrumental solo with the premonitory title: The End off The Range .

Peter Green gives up the music then. A time interned in psychiatric hospital, it cumulates the odd jobs during several years, of which that of grave-digger.

It remakes surface in 1979 with the album In The Skies , very cordially accommodated by criticism. But after some other albums with unequal quality, it sinks again in a long depression.

It is then necessary to await more than one ten years to find the trace of Peter Green, who leaves his silence in the middle of the Années 1990. It founds then the Splinter Group, with the head of which it plays a software-blues of quality. Splinter Group recorded many albums and continuous to occur regularly on scene.

Anecdotes

To note that the guitarist Gary Moore, large admiror of Peter Green, devoted an album to him, heading Blues for Greeny , recorded with the proper guitar of Peter Green at the time of Fleetwood Mac (a Gibson the Paul Standard of 1959).
