Perlini

Perlini is an Italian manufacturer of rigid Dumpers often so called Tombereau X in the profession of public works.

The company Perlini S.p.A. was founded in 1957 by Roberto Perlini, and officiated in the mechanical engineering automobile and very quickly becomes one of the Italian leader of the transformation of the industrial vehicles.

Perlini is aujoud' today one of the most important european companies in the sector of the vehicles of building site any ground.

Direct competitor of the majors Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo and of its compatriot ASTRA, the success of Perlini is to be allotted to its capacity to permanently remain with the listening of the requirements of the market and the users.

This will to satisfy the request, in order to be able to be made a place in this sector very concurentiel where the market shares are often defended with the snatch, was shown as of the first realization of Perlini (the transformation of vehicles 6x2 into 8x2) which saw little time after its launching, the lengthening of the frame and the addition of a carrying axle in order to reduce the transport costs by the increase in the capacity of loading of the vehicle. Perlini transformed 1500 trucks per annum.

Recall of the Italian context

From 1952, the highway code in Italy imposed a load on the axle of 10t what authorized, in basic road version:
  • 14t for a 4x2,
  • 18t for a reversed 6x2,
  • 24t for a 6x4,
  • 22t for the 8x2, thousand legs.

If a trailer is added, one doubles the PTR to reach 44t for one 8 axles. The vehicles of building site, standard mixers, profited from a PTC of 30t. With such standards the semi trailers are rare and all the conveyers operate with an attachment which Italian baptized 4+4 or miles legs in French .

At the time, each European country was more or less tight with the product imports foreigners. The Italy had several very famous manufacturers like FIAT V.I, OM, Alfa Romeo, Lancia V.I, Bianchi, Isotta Fraschini, among most known. None of these manufacturers marketed trucks in version 8x2; at the exit of factory one saw only reversed 6x2, with load for the customer to make add the 4th axle autoviror and hinged of his choice. Perlini, like Viberti or Girelli and much of others was these.

Since 1975, with the new code in Italy, these values passed to 12t to the axle but with a weight ratio/power of 8cv/t, which explains the 352 cv = 44tx8cv, and that gives:

  • 18t for a 4x2,
  • 24t for a 6x2,
  • 30t for a 6x4 of road if not 33t in version " mezzo of opera" - building site.
  • 36t for a 8x4 or 8x8 in version road, if not 40t in version building site,
  • 44t for a carrier with trailer or a semi trailer on 5 axles in version road, if not 56t in version building site.
  • 72t in heavy load without escort but with authorization.

History & Perlini Manufacture

As of the beginning of the year sixty, Perlini widens its field of intervention by using its knowledge to make technological and its creativity with the Equipements sectors - containers out of light aluminum alloy for products in bulk with pneumatic unloading under pressure, patented, which strongly reduced times of unloading - and the Dumpers (or Tipcarts) - dump truck trucks any ground.

The challenge of the Dumper, whose first prototype goes back to 1961, opens perpectives news of growth at Perlini which must face the American majors who up to that point controlled entirely the market.

This first Perlini dumper was immediately accommodated with great favor by the companies of TP what made of Perlini, at the end of the Sixties, an main actor of the sector.

In 1970, Perlini celebrated the exit of the thousandths Dumper and little time after, an order innatendue of Perlini vehicles came from China. In 2005, more than 2500 Perlini tipcarts operated in this country.

The fame of Perlini grows and the company of increasing its means of production. In 1973, Perlini decides to build the most modern factory of dumpers of Europe, located at Gambellara, in the province of Vicenza, into which were introduced the most modern, continuously updated equipment and optimized allowing to offer the highest quality and of more competitive times of production.

The success and notoriety of Perlini do not rest solely on the dumpers but also on the special vehicles as the frames for machines of fire control which compose the fleet of the largest world airports and Italian of course.

To test thoroughly the machines and each one of their components, Perlini wanted to face the most attractive competition more massacring and of the Eighties: Paris - Dakar. It was a triumph for the Italian company which registered its name in the Prize list of the editions 1988 - 1990 - 1991 and 1993.

In 1977, Perlini S.p.A. creates Perlini International, connects commercial company for a world diffusion of the dumpers and other productions.

The Eighties are remembered by the arrival of a new project of vehicle, a heavy truck of building site also adapted to transport on road, of great capacity, robust and sure. In 1987 Perlini launches, at the time of the living room Conexpo of Las Vegas, the 131.33, a truck with three axles which revolutionizes the sector of the vehicle of career and building site.

Forty years after the production of the first vehicle, Perlini already built and sold more than 10.000 dumpers out of the five continents. One finds them with work in almost all the countries of Extreme and the Middle-East, in Africa, in Oceania, in South America, and obviously in the majority of the European countries. A record should be announced: 95% of the dumpers manufactured by Perlini are always in activity in the world.
