Percy Montgomery
Percival Colin Montgomery , known as Percy Montgomery is a player of South-African Rugby , evolving/moving mainly at the station of back, born the March 15th 1974 with Walvis Bay, in Namibia. He is married in Tasmin and has two children.
He begins his international career with the Sprinboks against the Lions in 1997.
In 1999, it disputes its first world cup, it plays 5 matches and registers 2 drops against the All Blacks .
In 2002, when it decides to go to play in Europe at the Newport Gwent Dragons with the Wales, its international career seems to want to finish because the policy of SARFU, federation which governs the rules in South Africa is not to select of player not evolving/moving with the country. But it is finally pointed out to play with Boks during the season 2004: it takes part thus in the victory of those in the Tri-Nations.
In 2005, it decides to return in its native land, but to play from now on at the Sharks.
It holds the current record of points marked by a South-African player in tests matches, record previously held by Naas Botha.
He will play the next season in the Top 14 with the USA Perpignan.
The September 22nd 2007, it exceeds Joost van der Westhuizen with 90 selections, fitting still more in the history of South-African Rugby.
In 2007, it disputes its second world cup. He is the best marker of this cut than South Africa gains vis-a-vis in England 15-6.
