Pennsylvania Hospital

Pennsylvania Hospital is the oldest hospital of the the United States. It is with Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. May 11th, 1751, the assembly of Pennsylvania grants a charter Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Bond in order to establish a hospital. This one settles initially in provisional buildings in 1752. Work of the western wing began in 1755. The library of the hospital had its first book in 1762 given by Dr. John Fothergill, an English friend the Franklin one. Today, the library has books going back to 1483 to 1930.
