Pedro de Cevallos

Pedro Antonio de Ceballos the Cortes (born in 1715 with Cadiz in Spain - died in 1778 with Córdoba in South America) was a Spanish soldier there. Governor of Buenos Aires since 1757 until 1766, it was named viceroy during creation in 1776 of the Vice-royauté of Río of Plata.

Biography

As soon as it was indicated viceroy, governor and general captain of the provinces of Río of Plata and supreme president of the Real Audiencia of Plata, it left Cadiz the October 12th 1776 with the head of a forwarding.

The April 21st 1777 it arrived at Montevideo at the head of: 9316 men. Cevallos went by terrestrial way towards Colonia LED Sacramento which was with the hands of the Portuguese and which it subjected quickly.
